Julio M. García Cobos is a PhD in Economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a BA in Economics from the University of Oviedo. He is a founding partner of PQAXIS Consultores en Economía. He previously worked for NERA Economic Consulting, the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Spain and the United Nations, New York.

He has been a consultant in market analysis, competition policy and economic regulation for more than 20 years. He has also carried out expert witness reports in the telecommunications, audiovisual, food, financial, infrastructure, manufacturing and transport sectors.

He is an associate professor at IE University, where he teaches Microeconomics and Market Analysis, and at University Carlos III of Madrid, where he teaches Economic Regulation and Law and Economics.
